| Tom Westfall – Director/Choreographer
Tom Westfall received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from The Ohio State University in 1995 and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Wright State University in 2003. At Piqua High School, Mr. Westfall teaches Men’s and Women’s Chrous, Show Choir and Concert Choir. The Choirs at PHS are very active in the OMEA Large Group contests at both District and State levels. Mr Westfall has also worked on the past 17 PHS Musicals and is excited to direct this years production. Mr. Westfall is the Department Chair for music in the Piqua City Schools and was a finalist for Teacher of the Year in 2001, 2003 and 2006 and winner of the award in 2009 for the district. Outside of school, Mr. Westfall stays very busy as president, founder, and director of Music Warehouse. In the summer, he directs a summer showcase featuring 200+ area youth. He has also served as director of Community Chorus. In addition to being a member of ACDA and OMEA, Mr. Westfall serves on the Mills Brothers Scholarship Committee and is active with the 11th Hour Theatre Company. Mr. Westfall is a proud PHS alumnus where he spent three years as a member and former dance captain of “The Company.” |
| Kyle Fisher – Choreographer
Kyle Fisher is a 2004 graduate of Piuqa High School where he was very active in “The Company.” While attending PHS he was a 3-year singer/dancer in “The Company.” During his senior year he held the positions of Dance Captain and Co-President. Kyle has also been very active in the summer program “Music Warehouse.” He served as dance captain for 5 summers, helping in the creation and teaching of many choreographed musical numbers. Kyle is a 2008 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Business degree with a specialization in Marketing. While at Bowling Green, Kyle continued his musical experiences by being a member of the BGSU Men’s Chorus. Kyle has been volunteering his time to work with “The Company” since he left the group in 2004. He has been included on the list of directors as choreographer for 5 years. Kyle also enjoys working with the show choir and providing his creativity and enthusiasm to produce award winning shows. |
| Lara Courtney Homan – Assistant Director
Lara Homan comes to us from Columbus, Ohio where she works for Hunnington Bank. Lara has also traveled the country working for Christopher Alan Productions as a Musical Director and Chroeographer. Ms. Homan is a 1995 alumnus of Piqua High School. There she was heavily involved in choir, show choir, and musicals. Lara studied musical theatre at The University of Akron under the vocal direction of Dr. Robert Billions. Ms. Homan’s choreography has taken her all over the country including Ohio, Kentucky, Florida and New Mexico. This is her ninth year as a choreographer for the award winning PHS Show Choir “The Company.” As a performer, Lara has been very active with the 11th Hour Theatre Company. Her roles have included Kathy in “The Last Five Years” and Eve in “Children of Eden.” In 2007, she was cast in the New Stage Collective production of “Striking 12″ in Cincinnati. This was the regional theatre premier of this work. |
| Mitch Mahaney – Director of Bands
Mitch Mahaney is the Director of Bands for Piqua High School. Mr. Mahaney is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and The University of Akron with a degree in Music Performance, with an emphasis in percussion. Now in his 18th year of teaching, Mr. Mahaney has taught at Troy High School, Washington High School in Massillon, West Jefferson High School, and Greeneview High School before coming to Piqua. At Piqua, Mr. Mahaney is responsible for 5th and 6th grade band at Bennett Intermediate, the 7th and 8th grade bands at Piqua Jr. High, and Jazz Band/Show Choir Combo, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and the Pride of Piqua Marching Band at Piqua High School. |
| Justin Fry – Technical Director
Justin Fry is a 2001 graduate of PHS. While attending PHS he was a 2-year singer/dancer and a 2-year crew member in “The Company.” During his senior year he held the position of Co-Section Leader. Justin has also been involved in the past 13 PHS Musicals working as Lighting / Sound Designer. He is looking forward to working on the upcoming Musical at PHS. Justin is also involved in the summer showcase, Music Warehouse, where he serves as the Lighting / Sound committee chairperson. Justin received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Wright State University in 2008 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at Northern Kentucky University. Justin lives and works as a computer programmer in Cincinnati. |
